I thought I might share some of my favourite Polaroid 600 photos taken over the past twelve months. I adore the aesthetic of film and think it's just completely magical to watch each shot develop and transform before your eyes. As a amateur photographer* it's simply a bit of fun to play dress ups with my sister or cousin and it's not a regular hobby (as much as Instagram). These are a selection from three packs to film; two were expired, the other was a Impossible Project PX 680. Thank you to my sister Brittany and cousin Jade who roll their eyes but always appease my requests at being my model, your patience and kindness is appreciated.
*I'm not trained in photography so these are self-taught, experimental pictures I would love to have a try at digital at some stage or another.
These are great! I've actually never worked with film before, my sister did back when she was into photography. I guess film makes me feel a little stressed because I don't know how it will turn out, but I suppose that's part of the charm!
ReplyDeleteThank ou Emily! Yes film is a bit of experimenting with trial and error. I would recommend playing around with disposable camera's which you can pick them up from BigW or Kmart quite cheaply to have a play around with and return it to the store to get developed. Obviously you can pick up the latest Fuji instant camera also if you wanted to pursue film.

I love these shots! I just adore the charming element of surprise with print film - an art lost in our world of perfect digital photography. These images are so nostalgic and reminiscent of a time that is more authentic somehow. :)
ReplyDeleteLove your blog! :)
